Precisely what, in the above post/diary, should Kaine have proactively foreseen and prevented?

    - Someone oversleeping - Malfunctioning machines - Incorrect delivery - Wet weather (drizzle, in PART of the state)

If Obama wins my state it will largely be from Kaine and Warner tirelessly assisting the campaign.

Exactly why are you bashing my Governor?

Someone oversleeping: OK, that's human error. Maybe from here on out, ensure you have two people with the key to any voting place. Obama needs to send a few volunteers to GOTV in those precincts but I am sure the campaign is doing so.

I volunteered yesterday and nearly caught cold. That and having a 20 month old daughter who asks 'Where daddy?' after 6pm is also an issue.

A few precincts having these issues won't be enough to extend voting hours -- if they wouldn't do it in an icestorm (Feb 12), they won't do it now. It'd have to be a city-wide or county-wide issue.

Machines that have malfunctioned in the past -- yes, that should have been foreseen. Hence the paper ballots in many counties.

Incorrect delivery -- any precinct should have the paper ballots. I mean, that's kind of a requirement.

Wet weather -- I mean rain isn't exactly an impossible contingency. OTOH, the rain ruining the ballots might be something overlooked. At least with a paper ballot you have a readable sheet of paper; with electronics you have a smaller chance of water short-circuiting everything.

On the plus side, remember the rain is discouraging McCain voters too. Most polls show enthusiasm for Obama and less for McCain.

    •  I believe that the NAACP sued VA this (0+ / 0-)

week for not peraring enough inferastructure for the forseen number of voters - pèople saw the problems coming. The governor did NOT respond.
