    this.

You are concentrating on the straw that broke the camel's back and it is a distraction.  The black vote on Prop 8 made the difference, but just barely.

The overwhelming majority of people that passed this proposition were White Republican Christians funded by the Mormom Church and succumbing to Christianist Fear.  The blame lies there to the tune of $40 Million.

This is what they want us to do.  Turn on each other.  Stop.  If we turn on one group they will find another to exploit during the next challenge.

    Focus on the money.

There's no hurrying up the grieving process. Maybe these numbers will turn out to be exaggerated. But right now it looks like a significant betrayal.

We're raw and hurting while others are rejoicing. Don't argue--just walk away. Or else don't be surprised if we get angier and more pissed off.

From my homo perspective, the African American community in California took what should have been a day when we all came together to celebrate change in America and shoved us right under the bus.  It's their celebration, not ours.  It's their election, not ours.

And yes, I appreciate all of the work that many in the African American community did on our behalf.  And yes, I appreciate the 25-30% who voted against the measure.

But it's extraordinarily hurtful.  I feel I've been kicked out of the celebration.

And I know that the Mormons and the Knights of Columbus funded this.  And I know that the Republicans voted against it in droves.  And I place even more of the blame on them.

But at least I knew where I stood with them.  This was a betrayal.

No, you do. It hasn't even been 24 hours and you want people who've just been shit on to smile and join the group hug.

There's a lot of blame to go around, and while the lion's share is with the Mormon Church and right-wing assholes, some of it rests inside our own party. That's an unavoidable fact.

We'll figure out how to fix it, but right now people need to grieve.
