    I don't care for the term "universal marriage" because it implies that everyone should or must be married.

    Of course I fully support the rights of any couple to get married if they want to, same-sex or opposite sex, no difference. But I also support the idea that people who chose to remain unmarried deserve respect and recognition, and there is already a huge amount of discrimination against unmarried people. Therefore I would not support "universal marriage."

    I also don't like the term "gay marriage" (like it's some special, different kind of marriage) so if you are trying to avoid that term, I applaude you for that, but how about something more choice-oriented, such as "marriage equality" which is my preferred term for supporting the right of every person to have an equal opportunity and right to choose to marry whomever they want to, or choose to not marry anyone.
