Everyone knows it's a time for unity and healing, not politics.

    Everyone says so!

Through history, healing has been a Democratic specialty.  Roll over for years and years.  Go along to get along, for years and years.

Then, as if on schedule, the fascists over-extend themselves, often grotesquely.

    Nixon => watergate.

Reagan => Iran contra and more.

George W. Bush => the total fascist clusterfusk we find ourselves in.

You might think that this would be a chance for some real politics, and a real swing of the pendulum in the other direction.  A good chance for the Dems to swing into action!

You'd think wrong.  Because, guess what, kiddos!  It's time for healing!  Time to put aside politics and that nasty Washington culture that has handed Bushco basically everything it's asked for.  For years and years.

Harry Reid is the perfect leader for this phenomenon, along with his house counterpart Nancy Pelosi.  Not to mention the President Elect.

    Let the healing begin.

Besides, any difference between Joe Lieberman and your average big-boy pants(tm) Security State Dems is strictly cosmetic.

Perhaps some of the wrath being directed at good old Joe is misdirected.  It's understandable.  All those repressed, pent-up, neglected, antiwar, anti-fascist tendencies need some outlet.

Please don't feed the Security State.

we're honest, Joe Lieberman is the perfect leader for a committee named "Homeland Security".

Few outside of the Vice President's office have established the solid Security State cred that good old Joe has.

      He's earned it.

      It's the fascism, stupid.

      •  I don't recall the word healing being used (0+ / 0-)

by anyone prominent.  I believe they're talking about working together to get things done.  How can anyone work with Joe Lieberman on the war issue?  Joe Lieberman is not a moderate.  He is in fact a fanatic on anything remotely connected with the Middle East or national security.  There are many Republicans who are more reasonable and rational than Joe Lieberman.  He also believes in spying on Americans and torture. Why do you think he's a "friend" of John McCain?  He used John McCain and his attachment to the military and lack of understanding to push the U.S. into war with Iraq and now he's working on Iran.  John McCain sees the world in a very simplistic way and he's been taken in by Joe Lieberman.  I respect John McCain much more than I respect Joe Lieberman, but John McCain isn't as clever or smart.

It's what the body does. It expels infection.

      •  It is for me. (0+ / 0-)

I've known Joe Lieberman, indirectly, for a long time, even before he became a senator.  He's not what he wants us to think he is.  He's also a liar.
