is NOT bigotry.  And to compare it to the Nazis is pretty outrageous.  And it is certainly not the same thing as being the major supporter of an amendment to take away the rights of an entire group of people.

If you attack people solely because they're a Mormon, without knowing that they voted for Prop 8, that's bigotry. Even if a majority of Mormons had voted for Prop 8, that would be bigotry. But especially if a minority voted that way, which you don't really know, that would be nothing but bigotry.

If your values prize bigotry, you're reflecting your values by attacking people who share a faith with people who hurt you. Just as bigots distrust all Black people because of some Black people who are untrustworthy criminals.

The Nazi treatment of the Jews should be a lesson for everyone just what kind of attacks on a whole group are unacceptable bigotry. And indeed just what abandoning such boundaries of respect can lead to. You should be outraged at the comparison. Not because it's inappropriate, but because you are walking an unacceptable path that we've all been shown unequivocally is evil.

So instead of targeting an entire group because of a substantial fraction of its members, you're targeting an even larger group because of a much smaller fraction of its members.

You really are an incredible bigot. So much so that I don't even think it's Prop 8 or Mormons that you're dealing with. I think that they're just an excuse for you to exercise your bigotry.

If you don't get over the bigotry in yourself, how can you expect others to get over it against you? This is the most basic rule of interpersonal behavior.
