  •  How do you know how most of them voted? (2+ / 0-)

I certainly don't, but if I was forced to put money on which way the majority went, it would certainly be on the side their church was telling them to vote.  It's not like Mormons are generally independent thinkers.

You are really a bigot. Even if only a tiny percentage didn't vote for Prop 8, you'd still boycott them, and come up with some excuse for punishing people who didn't do you, or anyone else, any harm.

But right there you just dehumanized all Mormons as "not independent thinkers". Bigot. Disgusting. As disgusting as anyone who voted for Prop 8.

Nothing about me.  I was raised in a fundamentalist church.  I Know how those authoritarian organizations work to control their members.  So don't you Dare call me a bigot because I have that knowledge and dare to speak it.  And even if that statement was inaccurate, to compare it to being opposed to gays having the right to live the same kinds of lives the rest of us get to live?  How Dare you???????

You might be angry right now and you might for whatever reason be feeling terribly defensive towards Mormons.  But you have absolutely No Right to be making those kinds of offensive, nasty barbs.  None.

        •  I second everything you said (0+ / 0-)

And completely agree with the TR

          •  Thank you! I wouldn't generally use a TR against (0+ / 0-)

someone attacking me, but this was just so far over the line, especially the part about being as bad as voting for  prop 8, my blood boiled.  So I appreciate having a second opinion that it wasn't TR abuse.

I just backed up what I said with the simple facts. You are demonstrating yourself a bigot. All I know about you is the bigotry you're showing and defending in this discussion.

Your entire post is a perfect mirror of whatever denial you're projecting onto me. Denial of the bigotry you're proving.

And the rest of you TR abusers are no better. Suppressing my clear conclusion from the facts that you are bigots doesn't make you any less bigots. In fact, it just shows that boycotts aren't the only bad behavior you've got with other bigots. Congratulations.

"It's not like Moslems are generally independent thinkers."

"It's not like Latino Catholics are generally independent thinkers."

"It's not like African American evangelical Protestants are generally independent thinkers."

constant with what your "invisible friend in the sky" tells you, as opposed to your own rational, considered decision, then, well, yeah, you're not an independent thinker. Sorry.
