An election this close could easily end in a new election.

I don't live in Minnesota and don't know the election laws, but...

In Texas, where I live, if you lose the election by 236 votes and can find 237 illegally cast votes, the judge will set a new election.

Either candidate, Franken or Coleman should be able to easily find enough votes to require a new election.  So even if Franken were to win, by say, 25 votes after the recount, Coleman would only need to find 26 illegaly cast votes to require a new election.  This election may not be decided until March or April.

The problem is that if Franken were to use this method it would be difficult to justify opposing laws on Voter ID.
