    Darcy was an anti-war, anti-Bush candidate. It's ironic that those two issues got moved to the back burner when the economy tanked.

    By election day, a lot of low-info voters were only thinking about which candidate felt more familiar and comfortable... in uncertain times.

    It would have helped if she had held some kind of elected office before: City council, County super, School board... anything. That kind of track record really helps with the "go along with the crowd" voters.

    Howard Dean recommended establishing a "farm team" of progressives in local positions.

    Still, any progressive in any race helps the cause... win or lose.
