    The economic and social advantages associated with having married parents are documented. That's because the state favors marriage, whether the marriage ends in divorce or death, over non-marital relationships.

    Prop 8 also impacts children who didn't get to choose their families.

    This is worse, though, because it directly breaks up foster families. It hits the most vulnerable people in our society: The hard to place children who the state had to put into non-married households, because the healthy babies didn't go to the gay couples.

    These families have been fostering the children our system throws away, and now those kids are to be somewhere.
