In hockeyrules' defense, I've lived here all my life and I grew up with "pop" but switched to "soda" when I was in high school, then again I'm kinda weird. ;)

To paraphrase Python, "Pop sounded too tinny"

I'm a transplant (10 yrs ago) from "soda" country myself

but I have found myself saying "pop" occasionally in the last few years... maybe the 3M chemicals in the drinking water have that effect, idk

      up/dn/down/umop

I've been to Minnesota once, for the women's final four in 1995 (UConn undefeated season!)

It was soda in my house in the Catskills growing up, but my cousins who lived in Rochester NY called it "pop".

Now I'm in Massachusetts where the oldtimers call it "tonic" but most everyone goes with soda.

In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for; as for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican. H.L. Mencken
