  •  There's no requirement (6+ / 0-)

for providers to treat people enrolled in the government plans.  Insurance companies could make deals with provider networks to only treat people covered under certain plans.  People under government plans could be forced to travel hundreds of miles to find a provider or specialist covered under a government plan.

That situation is what is happening with Medicare right now.  Insurance companies offering Medicare Advantage plans lock up all the primary care providers or specialist in an area, forcing people to switch from affordable original Medicare to outrageously priced Advantage plans.  It's creating a crisis in elder care.

My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over.

that would have to be addressed in any plan to prevent such things.  Good point.

That hasn't been voted on or signed yet.  If you're a healthcare provider you either accept the government plan or you pay extra taxes to help pay for it.

      •  No, many corps will split themselves to get (0+ / 0-)

under the minimum # of employees. As they did in Mass, where the number to pay insurance or contribute was more than 11.

A lot of corps with say 50 employees went to being 5 companies. It was the lawyers and para- attorney's enrichment act.

        Sucks.

    •  Bullshit. I went from an Advantage plan for a (0+ / 0-)

year to plain old Medicare and kept my Doctors who were on the private corp list.

And I have more choice. The private, Advantage plans limit you and often to Drs. who can't see you for a long time.

      •  Your case (0+ / 0-)
doesn't negate the millions of other beneficiaries facing the problem I outlined above.  Advantage plans are cornering the market in many areas and shutting out people who are on original medicare.

        •  Again, raise the compensation to Drs, and (0+ / 0-)

          simplify the payment procedure.

Medicare administration has become downright hostile to providers – another place for cleaning house: calling Team Obama, stain on another agency.
