    Your point about Krugman's professed belief in "Free" Trade is well-taken.  However, Krugman has always put job creation ahead of any notion of Free Trade.  Free Trade as a concept is not used to mean Imperialism at the cost of job quality at home.  

    Consider this quote from a 2004 editorial:

    Free trade is politically viable only if it's backed by effective job creation measures and a strong domestic social safety net.

    So, Krugman is in fact a fighter against those who would hurt the American Worker.
