I read your diary last night and happily accepted your olive branch.

Good to see you back here.

Mr. President,...(a)fter 9/11, what would your biggest mistake be, would you say, and what lessons have you learned from it?

Most of the folks here are pretty open minded. There's just a lot of sour feelings about the Mormon Church torpedoing Same-sex marriage in California.

so I'm coming to grips with that.  Life is crazy!  But you know what, after all these diaries and back and forths, my resolve to support gay marriage has increased.

...my "aunt" Linda and my many gay and lebbian friends appreciate it.

Unfortunately, I often encounter the misguided idea that all Christians have a problem with with the GLBT community. This was only one of the many reasons that I left the church. I fear I will never return, but I respect your views.

I just decided to place my faith in the Bible and Jesus Christ, that's all.  I'm not a religious scholar by any means.  Just go by feeling and my feeling is that gays should be able to get married.  I thought I explained that, but some in the LGBT community can't see past the Christian thing I guess.
Casual Wednesday, are we going from Casual Friday to Wednesday also?  Good with me, I hate ties!  LOL.  Like the name.

on my Daily Kos code name. Here's the two-fold explanation.

First, I used to work for a small weekly newspaper. We published on Wednesday and did not typically have to be seen in public. That meant we had casual Wednesday instead of Friday.

Second, it is a take-off of the Novel American Gods. One of the characters is named Mr. Wednesday and he turns out to be the Norse god Odin (Wednesday is named for Odin). The point of the books is that the old gods are being replaced by the new gods of commercialism and technology.

And I really hate ties, too. Why would a rational male wake up in the morning and place a noose around his neck?
