    for them to set up a podcast .xml file for these.

    MSNBC's using one for the Countdown videos, so I know that's possible, and I know the sci-fi podcast Escape Pod has offered PDF files through theirs a few times - which would allow for the transcript. Maybe add a more traditional mp3 of the audio for those who only need that.

    That would also offer an easier way to take the video with you somewhere away from the computer and share with people you know who don't have computer access or do and haven't heard of the video addresses yet. Not everyone knows how to get a file off of youtube and convert it to a different format.

    •  Oh, and since that would let someone (4+ / 0-)

      use a program to automatically download anything new on the feed (or feeds, if they did a different one for each format option), it could also be used for 'emergency address to the nation' sorts of situations.

      Still air the address on the television, of course, but also have a 'spread the word' opening that's also a delayed unedited viewing possibility for those busy while the statement is made - including those busy with the very situation the address is about.
