  •  They say McCaskill really hit the rural counties (5+ / 0-)

She probably softened them up for Obama by showing that the world does not come to an end if you vote for a Democrat.

She is awesome. I would like to see her run for national office before she finishes her career.

But, why didn't that happen in other rural Missouri counties?

She opposed immigration reform and better MPG standards. I'm glad she gave the Democrats the senate for the past two years, but other then that, what has she done?

She may grow into the job, but was not really Senate material when she ran against Talent, in my view. I know she's the flavor of the month after doing so much for Obama, but as a Missourian, I think the state could do much better. We've had some outstanding senators in the past, and now we only have McCaskill and Bond. I'm not sure she campaigned in Iron County or even if the effect would have been that significant, but it's a factor to bear in mind.

My view is distorted by what I saw her do for Obama. She was one of the first to support him and from what I understand it is hard to be a senator and support one colleague over the other. I am sure she got a ton of sh-t from Clinton.

Her election ousted Talent which is pretty awesome.

I think progressives are going to be a little sad as we add more Democrats but not necessarily better ones (yet). I saw that Begich is 110% for opening up ANWR. I hope Obama finds a way to take that off the table quickly. I don't want to get mad at Begich yet.

For now, I will settle for the D after their names. At least they are closer to progressive than the R's. If the country shifts further left, there is a better chance they will follow.
