    This is exactly what would happen in the case of any assassination of an American president. Which is exactly why mentioning an assassination in a glib or irreverent fashion isn't something that should be done in civilized conversation.

      ...we would take offense that someone would kill our president, but I doubt too many of us would honestly feel as if we lost something we treasured.

      Whether or not Kennedy measured up to the adulation, at the time he was still idolized by many, even after the Bay of Pigs.

      Will the last one out of democracy please turn out the lights?
