    I work with people who are paid about $21 an hour to make sure your drinking water is clean, your sewer system works, your roads and sidewalks are safe, and a hard rain doesn't flood out your street.
    Not to mention, they are on call 24/7. Consider the consequence of failure...perhaps a basement full of shitty water, a water main break on Thanksgiving. These jobs matter, and the people that do them deserve a fair wage. Median home prices here are over 300k, $21 an hour is nothing.
