    you have to get to 51% "yes" to change the California Constitution.  The "no on everything!" voters voted "no" on banning gay marriage, but they'll also vote "no" on allowing it.

      Only 50% + ONE VOTE needed to change California's constitution.  

      Insane.  But there it is.

        drawn from your figures: matters of civil rights such as these simply cannot be decided at the ballot box--they must be decided in the courts. Hell, if we had left it up to the voters, blacks would still be slaves, abortion would still be illegal and witch burnings would be de rigueur.
