Thats what I am dying to know.

I don't see anything discussing that, so I assume they just look like assholes and not much else?

It's got to be unethical.  He's supposed to be some sort of journalist.

The man is no journalist. He's a self-serving corrupt weasel.

He parlayed his notoriety in a sex scandal into a job.  He's the Paris Hilton of political discourse. Except that Paris Hilton isn't as skanky. Why newspapers pay him for his idiotic opinion columns is beyond me.

As far appearing on Fox, is anyone on Fox a journalist?

Dick Morris is now a journalist? He is a Washington insider that has an opinion. That's all he ever portends to be. If anything, it opens the eyes of the naive to realize that this is the way the game works.
What he is doing is not illegal, reprehensible perhaps, but not illegal. Have you ever seen stock tip e-mails fron Ann Coulter? Book promotions by Next Gingrich? Don't you think that they are being compensated?

Is it any more illegal than the Today Show hosting Brad Pitt so he can shill tickets to his next movie?

It's unfortunate that Faux News viewers are so gullible they BELIEVE they are watching actual news and not just an infomercial. But illegal? Naw.

doesn't present Brad Pitt as a cultural analyst, and movie ticket sales are less regulated than campaign finance.

That said, I'm not saying it's illegal, just that it's a lot more unethical than your example would suggest.
