      •  I only get to 68.2 for Obama (0+ / 0-)

I'm trying to figure out where the next 500k come from.  I'm assuming mostly from big states like NY and IL (and maybe NJ and MA?)--but I can't find more recent numbers for those states:

        NY
        Obama  4,363,386
        McCain 2,576,360

        IL
        Obama  3,319,237
        McCain 1,981,158

        NJ
        Obama  2,085,051
        McCain 1,545,495

        MA
        Obama  1,894,067
        McCain 1,105,908

Note -- total may be more than what I have above since these have been updated since then. And the formatting will probably suck, so I apologize in advance for that.

          •  BTW, here are the states where I have more votes (0+ / 0-)

for Obama--I'm assuming some got thrown out in your count?

            ME: 421,923
            MA: 1,894,067
            MO: 1,442,180
            TN: 1,093,213

Most of those numbers came from the AP, though I did check the SoS/Election Board numbers (statewide, not county by county)

            my total is 68,735,817...

            •  MO had a county restate (0+ / 0-)

              They had some numbers transposed.

I know MA is low -- tried to do the town data, but both town and county data sucks.

I'll have to look at TN. Is there a recent update there?

And ME is another state that it's tough to get numbers from.

Thanks for the comparison! I'll keep updating daily as long as the new totals are meaningful.

            •  And here are my McCain overcounts (0+ / 0-)

              AZ: 1,230,111 (one vote!)
              MA: 1,105,908
              TN: 1,487,564

              McCain total: 59,614,308

Both MA and TN have overcounts in my numbers for McCain and Obama.

              •  I've been delinquent on TN (0+ / 0-)

I think I knew the numbers had changed, but hadn't loaded them yet. MA is the same issue, I think. AZ -- I'll have to check on that. :)
