  •  Simple things can be done to increase turnout... (0+ / 0-)

    such as, making election day a national holiday, providing easier and more convenient access to the polls, restructuring the electoral process, etc.  No need to take away people's freedom not to vote.  Why go to the polls to cast a protest vote for a third party candidate when staying home will have the same effect.

    I consider myself an Agnostic because the only thing I believe in less than God is certainty.

      I agree with all of your suggestions but none of them are really being pursued, so something's gotta give...

      As for not voting, I don't see that as a viable alternative to a healthy and functional representative democracy!
