Republicans won't support moderate Republicans.  If we want an "honorable oppostition" sometime in the future, we are going to have to build it ourselves.  I think Obama is doing that.  He is going to have some very prominent, very visible conservatives demonstrating daily that compromise beats partisanship; that results beat ideology.  And when he's gone, these people will have 4-8 (12?  16?) more ears experience than their base-pandering counterparts.  When we do eventually lose an election, the next Republican is going to have to pick some of these same people, because they are the ones with experience.

Maybe, just maybe, this could return civility to Washington.  It would be nice not to worry that every election is life-and-death.

I mean it's like these guys take pride in ignorance! It's like they like being ignorant.

if Republicans won't support moderate Republicans, then they will come over to the moderate wing of our party.  Or become independents.  Further marginalizing the toxic Republicans and making it harder for them to regain national power.  Good.

Politics is like driving. To go backward, put it in R. To go forward, put it in D.
We inaugurate President Barack Obama in 55 days!
