democracy.  By this I don't mean we should get hysterical or jump on every rumor.  But I do think it is our right as citizens to disagree with anything he in fact does when we do, and to articulate that disagreement, even ahead of time if the matter is important.

and I have a huge problem with over the top hero worship.  That said, I really do wonder how many people who are up in arms are familiar with Obama's career history before politics, and how many are familliar with very basic concepts of strategy?

Sometimes it's smarter to build from what exists than to attempt to force an entirely new structure into being overnight.  Maybe real lasting change actually takes time and happens incrementally.  That is something that citizens should consider and ponder, and maybe a prism through which Obama's moves can be viewed somewhat differently.

You don't win a chess game by just throwing your King at the other guy's, is what I'm saying.  Not that this is a game -- but part of the idea here is to preserve  an orderly Constitutional Democracy in a time of severe economic and partisan political stress.

      •  And I don't disagree with that either. I'm not (0+ / 0-)

as concerned as the most vocal about recent appointments because I kind of think this is one of these the times make the policy moments.  The more middle of the road appointees we are seeing are sounding just like the more left wing appointments that would make me somewhat more confident because reality has a liberal bias.  And we've been getting a lot of reality lately.

That said, I could be wrong about this and people just have to use their own judgement.  I think Obama is a smart guy with good instincts, but there are lots of smart folks with good instincts who don't all agree with one another.  Defering to any one of them about issue of importance seems like the wrong attitude.  The guy can live with disagreement from people who think they have good grounds, I'm sure,a nd sometimes he might learn from what they say.
