  •  Obama v Shrub Today (5+ / 0-)

Obama: Serious presser, taking actual questions, giving paragraph long cogent responses.

    Shurb: Pardons two turkeys

    Priceless

Republicans only care about republicans. Democrats care about the Republic.

in that the differences were so glaringly obvious.

Bush was READING from a card as he thanked the service men and women he was using as a backdrop. He said something like, Whenever I am asked what I will miss most about being President, I say it is this -- meeting with members of the armed forces...etc.

Which was a perfectly reasonable thing to say.

The thing is, he didn't SAY it. He read it. In the most halting, stumbling, first-grader in front of the class way you've ever seen.

I was embarrassed, first for the country, that this is our "leader," and second for the service members who were actually listening to the "speech."

The man can't even make a 2-minute speech without reading (poorly) from cards. And he's given a version of it every single time he has spoken to the military, so you'd think he would know it by heart.

In contrast, Obama looked like the dictionary definition of presidential. The pauses in his speeches and press conferences are thoughtful hesitations as he chooses his words carefully before speaking.

The difference in the two men -- and their governing styles -- is going to be quite something to witness.
