    Reid has always won close.  I think he won by less than 3k votes twice...

      In 1998 he was challenged by Rep. John Ensign - now his colleague in the Senate - and won by 401 votes.

      In 1974 Reid was the democratic challenger to sitting GOP Sen. Laxalt and came within 624 votes of defeating him...

      All his other Senate races (1986, 1992, 2004) he won by 5 percent at the minimum.

      Obama-Biden in 2012!
