  •  NV Dem party isn't dead (8+ / 0-)

It's in revival. Wahoe County is thriving, having gone from red to swing and even a slight blue edge in less than five years. And we just won the State Senate (giving us both houses of the state legislature) and the second of three Congressional districts, having run a spirited race for the third one twice running even though it's been considered unwinnable by Democrats for two decades. And we have an excellent shot at taking the Governor's house from the corrupt, ineffective Jim Gibbons the next time around. If successful, that would mean Nevada Dems would completely control redistricting.

That's not what I call a dead Dem party, or even a Pining for the Fjords party.

I'd put up money and effort for a NV Ned Lamont and I bet lots of others would, too. So, find the candidate!

Couldn't have come at a better time.  I wish we could figure out how to give the moribund Democrats in our state (California) a shot in the arm.  Individual Dem candidates for state office do well because of the gerrymandered districts, and the GOP party statewide is in even more disarray than we are (and terminally stupid to boot).  But we need a revival of party leadership badly.

Electing a Republican is like hiring a carpenter who thinks hammers are evil.
