    policy devoid of responsibility. America should apologize to the Iraqi people and recognize and mourn their losses, and the losses of American families.

    The basic message of a lot of American "foreign policy"--if you can call it that--continues to be that American lives are innately worth more than the lives and loves of people in places with resources America happens to need. How many Americans actually still believe this?
