    in favor of only pushing for health coverage for children, when we could cover both.

    That's the part I don't understand - throwing uninsured adults overboard because we don't have the courage to ensure coverage for all.  Its silly, its wrong, its tragic.

      For instance, a parent gets sick and can't afford to go to the doctor - so the parent gets the kids sick - where if we would treat the adult at the first sign of illness we'd be more likely to help keep the kids from getting sick.  I mean it is really stupid to think that we are "saving money" by only covering the kids - we may well just be spending more money as a result because say three kids who might not have needed treatment are all of a sudden in the system.  We could have treated one person and then we end up treating three instead.  I'd say that's teh STUPID.
