And I fucking hate Sarah Palin too (she being a member of the aforementioned demographic), and by extension John McCain for sprouting that foul skank upon us.

Seriously, Sarah fucking Palin.  6 fucking (shitty) colleges.  A dickhead secessionist husband.  High school dropout kids.  Knocked up daughter.

Insanely stupid interviews.  Shit comedians would write.

What the fuck.  How fucking stupid, ignorant, and self-loathing do you have to be to look up to Sarah Palin?  Yeah, I'd say that if you're a fan of that moronic woman, then you might be a redneck.

    Omaha is Obama Country.

What's to like?  The raw, enraged, frothing inaccuracies?  The tragic dependence on the eff word in the absence of forceful and well-conceived rhetoric?  Maybe you two should go hang out on RedState.

I'd say it's someone who doesn't feel they have to apologize for having a strong liberal opinion, maybe even based on the idea that secession isn't a good thing, and birth control is.  Someone who is comfortable saying, "you know, it's not ok to be stupid and proud of it."

That said, I didn't rec the comment because I wasn't especially keen on the language, but I get how people can be sick of cowtowing to the lowest common denominator in American society, for fear of being called Godless snob elitists.  Like it's anyone's business what someone's personal relationship with God(dess) is, or like education is bad.  Or birth control.   Or not brutally killing animals for sport.  Or whatever.

and I understand that you want to vent.  I see that few have bothered to dignify this with a response, but you are so horribly wrong-headed, here, that I've just got to respond.

As a displaced but proud Redneck for Obama, my immediate (and mental) response to your comment, was a big, fat

      STFU, you fucking fucktard!

but then I realized that such a remark would be just as unproductive and facile as yours.

It's easy to say that rednecks are stupid.  It's always easier to let your prejudices do your thinking for you.  But I implore you to leave this vituperation here, and let it cloud your thinking no longer.  The fact is that the Democratic Party needs rednecks.  Without them, every US Presidential race would look like 2004.  Now, the great thing is that rednecks need the Democratic Party, too, and they are beginning to see that.  If people of color and rednecks finally started fighting together, rather than against one another, they'd usher in an irrepressible age of progressivism.  The Repubs shit themselves in fear over this very possibility, and that's why the powers that be have always encouraged us to squabble over our differences. This crap you're spewing is the kind of thing that just cements Nixon's Southern Strategy.

So stop it!  Is Sarah Palin the embodiment of evil?  Yes, I think so.  But it isn't her out-of-wedlock grandchild that makes her vile, and I think you know that.  Find something real to criticize her about.  Equating her, and her ungodly ambition for higher office, with simply being a redneck is extremely harmful to what the progressive cause should be.  We need those good, decent, hardworking rednecks to see that WE (Dems) are their kindred spirits, and not the Chamblisses and Palins of the world.  To read your comment, you certainly wouldn't think it.
