I don't see Castle running. As a matter of fact, I think it's better than even-money that he retires due to health and old age. Delaware Liberal is reporting that outgoing Lt. Governor John Carney is getting ready to run for the apparently soon-to-be-open seat.

Carney Setting Up To Run For Congress

It looks like the race to fill Castle’s open seat in 2010 just got it’s first campaigner.

Lt. Gov. John Carney has decided "beyond a doubt" that he’s "running for a federal office in 2010," according to a source close to his campaign operation. He has a couple of private sector job offers that will allow him the freedom to attend campaign related activities for the next two years, according to another source close to Carney.

    •  Oh, and in KY (0+ / 0-)

There is talk again about Crit Luallen. The main reason she did not run this year was because she had just been re-elecrate State Auditor in 2007.

An open House seat in Delaware would definitely favor Carney. If Castle is really retiring, the Delaware GOP is essentially dead. They have no one else.

The Republican Party is neither pro-republic nor pro-party. Discuss!
