    The office will in some ways tie President Obama's hands.  What Carter has done in the private sector far surpasses what he did as the executive.  Even Gore noted that being in public office would hamper his ability to do what he is doing now.

    Clearly, there is room for a lot of improvement.  I don't get the sense that Obama thinks like the rank and file politicians we have been subjected to over the past 20 years, although I think he is fully aware of the way they operate.

    I have said over and over that I hope he goes after all of the burrowed moles in government, starting with DoJ.  It's going to be painful, but as long as the operators are still in government, his ability, or anyone else's for that matter, will be thwarted to a lesser or greater degree.
