    It would have involved a transaction in which the Clintons were directly involved if there had been anything to it.  Since there wasn't, it's the equivalent of saying that "Puppygate" involves the Obama's selection of a puppy for the kids -- it does, but there isn't any Puppygate.

    Furthermore, it's not clear to what extent the Blagojevich thing touches on Obama or his campaign.  Certainly many people here have theorized that Emanuel was somehow involved in bringing Blago down.  Or that Jarrett withdrew because the transition knew about the investigation.  Or that Axelrod had expressed a candidate preference to Blago.

    None of those things are known to be true at this point.  But any of them could be true and, while they're all completely innocent facts, they would still "touch" on the Obama Administration in some way.

        not arguing that there's any quid pro quo.  Only that it would be naive not to expect at least some of the media to try to create the appearance of a scandal (or rather, Obama's involvement in what is pretty clearly already a scandal).
