    My post was as follows:

Over 35 years ago I was convicted of a white-collar felony. In the past ten years I have discovered that inexpensive, quick background checks reduced my earnings from high middle-class to zero (except for Social Security).

This issue is less important for me than it is for those in their teens and twenties.

I am now in contact with a 22 year old young woman who was encouraged to obtain her degree in social work. Except she is not able to enroll in  an internship due to her felony convictions. She is devastated, facing a life-long denial to opportunity.

I am particularly sensitive to this problem. Felons often cannot rent a place to live, they are certainly denied employment. If our society insists on imprisoning it's citizens (as a percent) in greater numbers than any other developed nation, should we not also provide opportunities to truly rehabilitate them?

Please, humane treatment of felons who have paid their dues and wish to resume a useful life deserve a path to do that.

Front Page articles need to use "There's More" when > 1000(?) words. His Kossness doesn't allow it ... nonsensical. What hurts more, helps less.
