    Take.  One would think people would want to recycle in hard times to make some extra money.

    My city has a recycling center and some of what we take there is salable. Other is not I fear.  I take our grass clippings and leaves to the compost pile at the center but I don't know if they make out on this or not.  They stir up the windrows with a large machine and move it around with bobcats sometimes.  People get it for compost and to mix into soil to improve its tilth.  However, the foreign particles in it don't make for safe handling by hand.

    I think the idea of the composting was to avoid the need for more landfill area.

      center and we do the normal bottles, cans, plastics, newspapers and such.. We bale it up then and ship 95% of it to China... Recycling has really dropped big time in this economy...  Cardboard went from $135 a tons to something like $35 a ton..  Companies are having a hard time finding buyers since it's costing more just to get it to them...
