      Grassley is a pretty old bugger. He'll be 77 in 2010, which means he'll be 83 in 2016. I'll take DLCer Vilsack in 2010, but it might be in our interests to let Grassley go until 2016, when he will probably retire (if he doesn't in 2010.)

      Then, we can have another Harkin-esque Senator from Iowa, a state that is trending blue.

      So, should we take the DLCer in 2010, or try to wait and get a real progressive in 2016? Because if Vilsack wins, he could be there for 20 years.

        Either way, I don't think we'll have much say in the matter. I don't plan on agitating for Vilsack to run. But you better believe the DSCC will.
