the uaw is absolutely killing our auto industry

I mean no disrespect.  Please back that statement up with facts and I will happily apologize, recommending my colleague's posts.

feastor i live in the shadow of the BMW plant here in SC (i do not work in the supply chain or the company) and have observed how well they have operated free of union discord and its just my personal opinion from my perspective here in SC.

They are lean and mean and have done very well. They've taken some punches in this economy to be sure but theyve not had to term any full time folks. Yes, theyve not renewed some temporary workers they had hired. but that flexibility has allowed them to survive and keep being successfull. Do you think the UAW would have allowed BMW the lattitude to not renew the unneeded temps if this plant were in Detroit? I think not.

Hamstrung companies can't compete. Why would BMW build here? the most anti-union city in America (Greenville, SC --- home of Milliken) and an educated workforce with a low cost of living.

I'm sorry but I just see the success every single day. SC isn't perfect but there is a reason they are here and its not just state and local tax concessions.

I said quite clearly I don't agree with tigerken's assertion, so you won't find me adducing facts to support it.  Still, it's a difference of opinion.  It wasn't said in any disrespectful manner and I really see no evidence that it was done with any malicious purpose.  Tigerken has no more obligation to cite to facts to support his opinion than you or I do.  HRs should not, in my view, be used simply because you disagree with it.  It's an abuse of the TU privilege.

I explained the rating was for the refuted RW talking point.

Thanks to further comments, we can see that my fellow Kossack's position is somewhat less absolute than one anti-union phrase indicates -- and aside from it, we disagree very little.
