      What I'm saying is the American autos aren't managed that much worse. What I'm saying are the Japanese benefit from demonstrably unfair trade conditions against the American autos.

      If the Japanese had a lack of access to American markets like the U.S. lacks in Asia, then the American companies would still be beyond #1.

      It's strange. I thought protecting jobs was something the government was naturally supposed to do. What's the point of a nation state that doesn't protect its people, exactly?

      Anyway, all this is practically beside the point. The legacy costs are the real cause of the American autos.
