  •  Great diary! (7+ / 0-)

I married a woman who was born disabled.  I felt like finding someone who was not a generic white person.  The first girls I dated were black, and I am white.  But then our family moved to a town with almost no black people.  So, I married a very disabled woman.  I met her in 1972.  I am saying that I was gravitating toward soemone who was not boring, white, generic.  So, I certainly feel what you are saying about same sex couples deserving equal respect and benefits.   And, beyond that, they bring variety to life.  I like that.

My wife died in March.  So, I have a new girlfriend.  She has schizophrenia, bad knees, no teeth, and only one breast, because of breast cancer.  But lots of love and romance.  Variety is fun.
