that ("It is a fact that Warren Christopher diverted that effort and changed the emphasis on just 4 counties") (and any subsequent claims), pref. with internet links?

Recounts in those counties took place because the Gore campaign initially asked for them in those counties and later (on 11/15/2000, i.e. exactly one week into the process) Gore offered to expand it to all counties if Bush were interested in doing that. The media and the spin then and subsequently completely ignored Gore's offer.

Since the state law did NOT provede for a blanket statewide recount for a candidate to ask or get, Bush joining Gore (as Gore proposed) was about the only way of ensuring a 100% statewide recount, short of the FL supreme court taking it upon itself to order one, but, at the same time, the GOP-controlled FL legislature and/or the supreme court could've intervened as the USSC DID intervene and stop the statewide recounts ordered by the FLSC.

    •  It should never have been an "option" (0+ / 0-)

You just said that Gore "offered to expand it to all Counties if Bush were interested".   I agree, and that was the whole problem here.

It never should have been an "option" at anytime for either side (or ever presented in that way).

Gore should have simply demanded a full Statewide recount from day 1 and pursued that sole, single objective, unconditionally like Franken, at every stage.
