Doesn't mean that there wasn't any.

And accepting an invite for some event in a church and offering a platform in front of a couple hundred million people...has it occurred to you that there might be a tad bit of difference between those two things?

    •  I don't think there's much difference (0+ / 0-)

Unless you think bringing people together is just a campaign slogan, like yes we can, or change we can believe in.

When he says, "Let's talk to Ahmndinijad", this site stands up and cheers, when he says Let me invite Rick Warren to my inauguration, you give the collective thumbs down.  What the heck is the difference?

Do you want Obama to ask Ahmadinajad his view on gay marriage before he speaks to him.  Do you want a litmus test for everyone who posts on ths site?

Yes I believe in gay marrige, happy now?  Seems to me "progressives" are being just as non-inclusive as the guys you hate.

Which does mean that contact on some level is necessary.   I don't mind the idea of Warren being included on some interfaith seminar, but at the inauguration of an ostensibly progressive/liberal Democrat?

Swaggart was hard enough to take back in the 1990s.

I mistook you for a person worth taking seriously.

I took this site to be a serious political website.  But what you're turning into is a bunch of single issue interest groups, splintering into tinier and tinier factions.

God (can I say God here?) help you if you believe that the war in Afghanistan is worth fighting.

Or you don't believe in marijuana legalization.

Or you're a Christian of any stripe.

          You are the enemy.

          Progressives are inclusive.  Sure.

But fulminating about some bizarre caricature of Daily Kos that sounds like it was conjured up by Bill Bennett during a bender at a Reno craps table is stoopid.

          •  A bigot's a bigot (4+ / 0-)

and bigotry is what defines Warren. Not his evangelism or his christianity. Homosexuality is equivalent to pederasty and polygamy? Jews are barred from heaven? I was disgusted when Obama submitted to being interviewed by Warren, but this is far worse. An inauguration that marks a new epoch in tolerance and inclusion is the last place to showcase a shameless anti-semite and homophobe.
