Well, I was sure that Isakson was going to walk away with the Senate seat down here but now I'm not so sure. He is running attack ads against Majette. I saw them on the TV the other night and just about fell off the couch! Things must be tighter than anyone expected.

But I have news for President Bush: just because you can't do something, doesn't mean it can't be done."

Really? Wow. I haven't seen anything from Isakson but those feel-good ads that he's been running for weeks now. At the same time, I have been seeing more of Majette's Georgia Power attack ads (something about her demeanor in those makes them just about the most pleasant attack ads I've ever seen) over the same period. Could they actually be having an effect, I wonder?

Yes, she can really smile while she's twisting the knife in your back, huh? I haven't been paying much attention to the ads here for the most part but that GA Power ad really hurt Johnny imo. Everybody hates these high power bills.

I believe the same thing. The polls are close enough to make Isakson believe this race is still his to lose (He's getting hit the same thing DeMint's stupid national sales tax idea). Some people here are writing off Majette already...I believe she has a a VERY high minority voter turnout that might push her over.

I for one have seen this first hand, in my county everyone assumed that Republicans will easily take over the Sheriff's office, due to the Democratic candidate was...you guess it...black. Even though he's 2nd in command, the retiring Republican Sheriff is quietly supporting him, and high qualifed for the job than his Republican counterpart. Then the primaries came, more Democratic voters voted in the primaries than Republicans. Never underestimate the power of newly registered voters and GOTV.
