  •  Judy Chu is the heir apparent (0+ / 0-)

    A couple of points:

    * Gil Cedillo's senate seat has almost zero overlap with the 32nd Congressional District.

    * Of all the candidates mentioned, Judy Chu is the only candidate who Solis is close with (Ed Hernandez is not running)

    *  Judy Chu is not somewhere in between the Calderons and Romero/Cedillo -- she is a solid progressive on every issue.

    *  Solis has strongly supported Judy Chu in all of her elections (including Monterey Park City Council, State Assembly, and Board of Equalization) and vice versa.

    •  If Cedillo doesn't run, but Romero and Chu ... (0+ / 0-)

...do, it will likely boil down to whom labor backs. Without that backing, any candidate is going to have a difficult time.

You're right about Chu's record. I was wrong to place her to the right of Romero and Cedillo.
