  •  How does the diary you link lampoon Christmas? (5+ / 0-)

Christmas is a pagan celebration of the "return" of the Sun, which was appropriated by the early Christian Church when even its own followers were making a bigger deal about hoping Sol comes out of its cave in December, than about the alleged birth of Christianity's alleged prophet in the middle of the Middle Eastern heat of June - which lapse they addressed by artificially moving the original, supposed date of the birth of their Christ half a year out of sync.

Here, have a fruitcake. As a member of an 80% majority that controls 100% of the elected power in the US, enjoys 100% of the officially sanctioned religious holidays, and controls a complete monopoly on angels in America, you have a remarkable ability to feel persecuted in the midst of a sea of red and gold, on Christmas day, no less (nevermind asking what the fuck a Christian so holy is doing commenting in an online forum on this holy of holy days).

Now you know how the rest of us feel 365 days a year. Oh, wait, you don't.

One day posterity will remember, this strange era, these strange times, when ordinary common honesty was called courage. -- Yevgeny Yevtushenko
