    when First World coastlines are universally flooded, damages will be described using the word quadrillions.

    A trillion here, a trillion there and sooner or later, you're talking real money.

    Better to solve the problenm now while it can still be solved with trillions of dollars in profitable investments.

    That's one of the things that annoys me about the public dialogue, the concept that money spent on fixing the problem will simply disappear from the economy instead of building a new generation of technology, a lot of successful companies, and ultimately, hundreds of millions of jobs all over the world.

    If the wingnuts want in on the action, all they have to do is find companies to invest in. These people are the ones who if it were raining money, would stand and get hit on the head by falling coins instead of grabbing a bucket.
