made a very good impression in the few weeks since she let Gov Paterson know she was interested in the appointment.

Her upstate visit was generally viewed as a bust, she hasn't been out there letting people know what they would get in her as a Senator, other than the daughter of a famous political family.

By sheer intelligence, she is infinitely more qualified than someone like Palin, but she seems to be relying on a "personal story" to get the appointment - much like Palin.

What a waste it is to lose one's mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is. ~ Dan Quayle

holds far more weight than your previous comment.  Thanks for clarifying.

It could be--just keep in mind--that as an inexperienced politician and public figure (she has largely kept out of the public eye her whole life), she has not yet learned how to connect as a campaigner.  I don't know if this is bad or good.  I also don't know if she would represent those of us who live upstate, and worry that the entire power structure of New York politics is from the City.  But none of this makes her automatically a "princess."

However, I don't think that she will be appointed by Patterson.

      Isn't Bush gone yet?
