      It's herself. Or, rather, the idealized version of herself that she refuses to accomodate to reality. There's something really screwy going on in that very large head of hers, something about needing to overcompensate for something missing in her life. She's the smart version of Sarah Palin, desperately needing to succeed and be adored, and willing to embellish reality in order to fulfill this fantasy, if reality won't come through. They are both Blanche Dubois types. Or, as I like to think of her, Rupert Pupkin. Or, perhaps, the Sigourney Weaver character in Working Girl. Narcissism + self-delusion.
