      Jayzuz, relax already.

    •  Perhaps putting together a solid case? (4+ / 0-)

Is justice instant to some people around here?

People yell and scream when a DA doesn't instantly put together the case against an obviously guilty party, but then are similarly disgusted when such a case falls apart for lack of proper care and preparation.

At what point does "building a solid case" (given Fitz's public grandstanding, I would've thought he already had a "solid case") become ongoing harassment?  He's been investigating Blago for YEARS.  Why doesn't he go ahead and indict already?  Or his Fitz really that incompetent?

Prosecutors should investigate crimes in order to find out who did them, not investigate people in order to search for a crime.

I find it fascinating that the same people that were up in arms over FISA now support wire-tapping people in never ending investigations hoping that a crime is uncovered at some point in time.

        •  His job is to present a fully-formed case (0+ / 0-)

And he wouldn't have been wiretapping without already having some indication of wrongdoing.  In Blago's case, there's a lot more corruption there than just selling a Senate seat.

I am not a laywer, nor do I play one on TV, but I do know someone in a DA's office (or, rather a couple of someones...) and the job involves rather a lot of pinning down exactly the right details in order to make the case stick.  Even the supposedly simple, but serious, cases can take years to put together.
