  •  Statewide races in CA are obscenely expensive (7+ / 0-)

Which is why I hope she runs for gov in '10.  I can't see taking her out in a primary in '12 unless the challenger could self-fund and already had high name recognition.  It would likely take a left-leaning Hollywood star to do it.

Put another way, Lamont would never have gotten anywhere had he not been able to self-fund in a big way, and CT is a vastly cheaper place to run a statewide race.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I see things that never were and ask why not?

in a primary is someone with an obscene amount of money and a name id in the stratosphere.  That leaves Steve Jobs.

      •  What about Gavin can't he raise a lot of money? (0+ / 0-)

Or even the mayor of L.A.

GOP = Godless opposition party We Hassle to make America a Vassal (state)

        •  Gavin won't go against a fellow San Franciscan (0+ / 0-)

no matter that she's not really one of us - and hasn't been for a long time.  Plus she'll just trot out her decades old ad capitalizing on the deaths of Moscone and Milk once again.

As for the mayor of L.A. he has too many personal problems let alone low name i.d. to take her on.  His positives in a general are clear (Latino from the southland) but in a primary...not so much.

        •  Gavin wants to be Governor (0+ / 0-)

and then maybe president.  Quite the ego on that one.  Plus I don't think he'd be much better than Feinstein.
