  •  That point about the Blair House maybe not (6+ / 0-)

being booked - that's pretty shocking!

I mean, when I first heard about it, i thought that there was something big going on, and people would be there for a week or so, so I understood, that scheduling conflicts can happen, so I wasn't too up in arms nor did I feel the need to comment or blog about it.

But if it's true that the Blair House wasn't really booked and John Howard from Australia is only staying like one night, then that's really petty and stupid not to allow the Obamas to stay at Blair House.

    •  I figured that was Laura's way of (3+ / 0-)

snarking. Seriously, there is no reason for that kind of rudeness. This involved the comfort of Michele and the children. First Ladies who were true hostesses must be rolling over in their graves. Honestly. And I can hear Pearle Mesta clicking her tongue from here! (she was mom's idol).

If they had an issue with Obama, so what. But to discommode the family just when the children are starting school like this is less than a weak attempt at "throwing back the shoe", it's a snub -- and like everything else the Bushes seem to have done, from the very first Washington BBque party they held in Washington way back when, it comes across flat. These are not true southern gentility by a long shot but crass people with no manners. Sore losers? Pathetic. To be equally as crass, some in the south here would just call the Bushes "Yankee transplants" and be done with it. One good snub deserves another. I hope they'll be happy in their new neighborhood. They are a dying breed.

Further, many people with no vested interest in this little bit of snippery are being inconvenienced by the road blocks and other security measures that have to be in place now where Blair is secure. Nothing like letting architecture do what it was supposed to do, I always say...(and BushCo is NOT).

Howard should have found another place to stay, so as not to have been the excuse for this!
