    But she's won each election by increasing margins (1992: 4%, 1998: 10%, 2004: 20%) and she's a good fundraiser. She'll be fine.

      •  Look at who Boxer's opps have been and (0+ / 0-)

you will see why she has won Sert, if given a serious opp she will lose.

Come on, Bruce Hershonson tough serious opp?

        •  Cause and effect (0+ / 0-)

One of the reasons that Jones was the GOP nominee last time was that nobody else wanted to take her on.

          •  Oh dream on. (0+ / 0-)

Boxer is not feared by the Reps.  Quite the opposite.  They think she is a joke, hence why they think they can beat her with lame brain candidates like the ones I just listed.  Now that the Reps are in such a deep hole in the Senate, they will go all in against Boxer.  She will face her first real opp and she will not win (again look at those fav/unfavs and tell me how someone who you think is so terrifying to Reps figures soooo poorly with CA voters:  Answer California is not automatic-Dem however some may think or wish it to be, look at Prop Hate.  Californians will elect a moderate Rep and that is a kind of candidate that Boxer has NEVER faced.  Ebay lady or insurance man could beat her, and quite frankly, possibly easily).

            •  Wrong (2+ / 0-)

              Wrong.  Wrong.  Wrong.

Wow, you are wronger than any wrong I've seen here in ages.

If Babs is such an easy mark, you're trying to tell us that no strong Repub entered a race against her because...why was that again?  Oh yeah, they let the dumbasses have a try.  You're kidding with this junk, right?

Seriously.  wow.  I hadn't noticed that huge streak of magnanimity, generosity, and kindness from the GOP.

              •  Living in CA and knowing many in the Rep (0+ / 0-)

circles (I'm talking Jim Brulte types) I can honestly tell you that Reps did and do think that they do not need to put forward very serious candidates to have a chance against Boxer (see list above).  Why put the more fringy against Boxer than against DiFi?  Because Reps in CA take DiFi more seriously, so they put up more serious candidates to unseat her.  Doing it this way help massage the Reps luny base (who got their crazy candidate de jour against Boxer) while at the same time feeding the mods in the party (who had their candidates go against DiFi).  Given the hole the Reps face in the Senate today, CA Reps will now put serious candidates against both DiFi and Boxer.  This is the first time this has happened.

Do you seriously believe that Boxer is the more terryifying candidate to Reps in CA than DiFi?  DREAM ON.  Look at the twos favs/unfavs.  You keep ignoring Boxer's lousy numbers.  If she were that fearsome why are her numbers perenially sooooo bad.

Nope you are WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.

                •  LOL. The Rethugs here are incredibly dumb. (1+ / 0-)

Sure, they might have thrown their 'brighter lights' at DiFi. Bill Jones, though, was well liked and tanked against Boxer.

Anyhow, the Rethugs here couldn't win a statewide race until Ahnold came along and the rest of his party HATES him. The other exception was insurance commissioner, another token moderate Poizner, a nobody, who got lucky running against Bustamente who ran one of the worst campaigns in history running on his losing weight (!!??).

Fact is, the Rethugs here are a too sorry a lot to beat Boxer, and you underestimate her campaigning ability-- it is tough and fierce.

                  •  You overestimate Boxer, She has not faced (0+ / 0-)

real competition.  Sorry but Bill Jones was a joke and ran a joke campaign.  He had no money and nobody cared.  To call him a serious challenger to Boxer is truly LOL.  No Boxer is going to get her first REAL opp in 2010, whoever it will be (ebay lady, insurance man, etc.,).  Some have gotten too comfortable/complacent about Dem chances in CA, such complacency will cost the Dems Boxer's senate seat come 2010.
